|House update: Mortgage approved
||[Apr. 29th, 2004|01:37 pm]
I got a phone call yesterday afternoon. Our mortgage is approved and we know exactly how much to bring with us when we close. This comes as no surprise -- really, if there were going to be any problems, we'd have known about them in November -- but it's one more item on the list checked off.|
193 hours, 15 minutes to closing.

Woo, almost there! Are you excited?
Off the top of my head I can tell you that it's 11,580 minutes to closing, plus or minus ten depending on who we have to wait for. Of course I'm excited. :)
Oddly enough, I am feeling no different than usual. Actually, given past experience, this isn't so odd; I seem to have some sort of immunity to most extreme feelings. Or, to put it another way, mentally my brain is going at 300 mph with moving and decorating and furnishing ideas, while emotionally I'm lethargic at best. Happy, mind, but I think I will not actually believe it's happening until after we're physically living in the house.
Stopping by, by way of *your* journal...
Getting a house didn't seem real until we made the first mortgage payment. (That was this morning, incidentally.) Up til then, it felt kind of like we were just borrowing the house from someone else.
Good luck, and may moving be pain-in-the-ass-less.
