At least we know

I think I've posted most of this friends-locked up until now. My uncle Steve has brain cancer. It's been a real roller-coaster ride since it was first diagnosed. The type of tumor, its severity, treatment options... it's seemed like every piece of news was different, ranging from "untreatable" to "good candidate for an outright cure". The penultimate update said that either it was responding well to chemotherapy or else it was growing rapidly.

That uncertainty is gone now. The tumor is growing rapidly and aggressively. This is not good news. Nearly everything else is still an unknown, or at least noone's told me (which is quite conceivable), but so much for the hope that it could be beaten into remission. I guess it's time to step up the search for silver linings.
